Referral program terms
The simple version of how rewards work — what qualifies, how you get paid, and the details. Clear, not scary.

Thanks for sending business our way — referrals are the best compliment we can get, and we want rewarding them to feel just as good. Here’s exactly how the program works, in plain language.
How it works
Generate your personal referral link on the referral page and share it with a business owner who could use a sharper website, smarter automations, or more leads. When someone you refer becomes a paying Root Labs client, you earn a reward. Your link tracks the referral automatically, so there’s nothing to keep track of on your end.
Your reward
For each qualified referral, you choose your reward: $150 in Root Labs service credit or $100 cash. Same referral, your call — put the credit toward your own work with us, or take the cash.
What counts as a qualified referral
A qualified referral is a new business or person who isn’t already in conversation with Root Labs, and who goes on to become a paying client — meaning their first invoice is paid in full. A few simple ground rules:
- One reward per new client.
- The referral has to be genuinely new to us — not someone we’re already talking with.
- Self-referrals, and referrals of businesses you own or control, don’t qualify.
When you get paid
Rewards are issued once the referred client’s first invoice clears and the refund window has passed — typically about 30 days after payment. That short wait just makes sure the project is truly underway before your reward goes out.
Service credit
If you choose credit, it applies to your own Root Labs invoices at up to $50 per month. Credit rolls forward month to month and doesn’t compound, and your bill will never drop below $0. Any unused credit carries over to future invoices. Service credit has no cash value and can’t be transferred.
Cash rewards
If you choose cash, it’s available to anyone — you don’t have to be a client. Cash rewards are capped at $600 per person per calendar year; any rewards beyond that in the same year are issued as service credit instead. Cash rewards may count as taxable income, and you’re responsible for any taxes owed.
The details
We may update or end the referral program at any time — but any referral already in progress when we do will still be honored. If there’s ever a question about whether a referral qualifies, Root Labs makes that call in good faith. We’ll always aim to do right by you.
